JOINING CMR ... the process explained
We have
tried to make the joining process as
easy as possible especially given the
wide geographical spread of our
membership. Whilst there are
physical introduction meetings, we handle
the initial interface and joining
process wherever possible
through online and telephone contact.
Most new members are able to
make their decision this way.
the process
-
READ THE CMR WEBSITE We
start by asking you to read as much of
our website as possible, and if there
are any specific questions you have -
to pose them by email initially.
We will update the FAQ section of our
website as appropriate - we would like
to get to the point where all
reasonable questions have the answer
already on the website.
-
SEND EMAIL APPLICATION If all looks good and you would
like to join us - please email Mike
Downey, Managing Director at
cmr@cmruk.com attaching your
CV/resume and contact details.
-
PHONE DISCUSSION We
will review and contact you by phone to discuss
your application and background, and to answer any other
questions you may have, to explain the
joining and inception process further,
and to discuss which level of
membership is appropriate. We
hope to be able to cover all the
important issues efficiently in this
way.
-
FORMAL INVITATION If
it is mutually agreed that joining is
a good idea, you will be formally invited
and sent the official CMR joining pack
- this includes an
ethical/confidentiality agreement for
you to sign, plus an invoice for the
joining costs, and a standing order
form for the monthly membership
subscriptions.
-
JOINING ACTION Send
the completed forms
back to 31 Harley Street,
London W1G 9QS, and upon receipt you
will be contacted again by phone and email
to welcome you onboard, and to discuss
which of the CMR Teams (Regional,
Special Business Groups, Affinity
Groups) you would like
to join. You
will be given the CMR Intranet passwords
giving full access to our website, and CMR
Operations Manual plus CMR brochures,
CMR letterheadings, compliment slips,
etc. You will also be able to
order CMR business cards.
-
FIRST MEETINGS
You will be contacted by your Regional
Director (you can choose which CMR
Region to join and can change at any
time). They will welcome you to
the Region and bring you up-to-date on
all that's happening and of course
invite you to the next regional
meetings (you will be part of our
regional planning and management
group). They will also discuss
with you any special training and
mentoring arrangements and also how
quickly and extensively you wish to
become involved in CMR Regional
activities. You will find there
is much support for you from your
Regional Director and your other
colleagues in the various CMR teams -
they all want you to become successful
quickly and enjoying being part of
CMR. We also hold regular
CMR-wide meetings (and golf days) to
which you will be invited.
