CMR Modus Operandi - summary

A successful business formula for everyone ..........

In summary, CMR has the resources of a large global private investor base and the ability through our extensive executive network, to provide small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs with the resources and skills they need to develop and grow.  Our business model is straightforward: 

  • We receive a constant stream of SMEs and entrepreneurs who are usually looking for funding for their business or idea.  With our global alliances we have a deal flow of prospective businesses and clients looking for help throughout the world.  Our executives are also able to use CMR’s considerable resources and products to develop new clients directly through networking and other connections within their area.

  • In many cases SMEs are actually unfundable, at least in the state they come to us, for a large variety of reasons – poor strategy, operational problems, lack of management strength, inadequate business plans, poor presentation of business to investors, etc., etc.  Our ‘job’ is to help them overcome the barriers they face and also to look at other avenues forward.

  • Each SME/Entrepreneur client will be handled by one or more CMR Executive Partners as appropriate, who will review the situation and make a rapid assessment of whether this is a proposition worth moving ahead with (not every proposition we receive will have merit).  We encourage our executives to work in teams wherever possible.  If the proposition is thought viable, they will discuss the ways forward with the client and agree what needs to be done before the proposition can be presented to investors.  

  • We also look for alternative ways ahead – because a funding solution is not always the best way forward for the client and because the availability of funding cannot anyway be guaranteed.  This process will also involve looking at the company’s weaknesses and general operations - this will invariably throw-up other action to be taken to improve the business, profitability, cash flow, etc.  Sometimes funding is not actually required after corrective changes are made!  As we are viewed by the client as a potential investor, they are always keen to talk with us and to have our involvement.

  • We will then discuss with the client and agree the action plan and fee basis for moving ahead, usually working on an up-front fee for work done in getting the client to an ‘investment-ready’ state, or for other work we are doing.  For the funding itself (or any other success-related things we are doing), we will charge a success fee (usually 5% of the funds raised, etc.).  Of all those fees, the CMR Executive(s) handling will earn 70%, the business introducer (could be the executive) gets 10%, 7½% goes for regional management & marketing, and the balance of 12½% goes to CMR to pay for corporate infrastructure & costs.  Very high earnings by CMR Executives are possible particularly where we achieve a successful outcome.

  • Quite often the work we do for a client will expand into a long-term management role, or into one of the CMR specialist areas of corporate recovery, technology licensing, mergers & acquisitions, company sales - all of which can generate high fee revenues.

 

·          Our business model can develop good income flows for everyone concerned.  We have many executive members who have been happily with CMR for a very long time – and have found CMR membership an excellent way to achieve a great independent career with substantial income and a good quality of life.  However, these things do not come without the application of skill and effort - but then all those who are qualified to join CMR will already know that!

 

·       As soon as you have joined CMR you will immediately be part of the CMR executive network – which means you will have many international colleagues and skills to call upon.  You will also be emailed with all new global projects coming into CMR, with the opportunity for you to become involved if you have special inputs or connections that are relevant.  Also upon joining you will be emailed with the CMR Operations Manual – a very comprehensive training manual that will bring you up to speed on all CMR’s operations, products and resources.  It also gives excellent advice on how best to handle clients and be a truly professional consultant.  You will find this invaluable in helping you to rapidly become effective and successful in CMR.  There is no time delay – as soon as you join us, you can become active.
